CVE-2024-42481

CVE-2024-42481 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the Skyport Daemon (skyportd) in Skyport Panel versions prior to 0.2.2. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit the lack of rate limiting on folder and file creation to exhaust system resources, leading to 100% CPU utilization and potential system crashes due to out-of-memory errors. Rated 7.5 HIGH on the CVSS scale, this vulnerability has a network attack vector and low attack complexity, resulting in high availability impact.
