CVE-2024-27355 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting phpseclib versions 1.x before 1.0.23, 2.x before 2.0.47, and 3.x before 3.0.36, including Debian distributions. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by providing a specially crafted certificate with a malicious sub-identifier in the ASN.1 object identifier, leading to high CPU consumption during decodeOID and causing a denial of service. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and requires no user interaction.
