CVE-2024-21593 is an Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved, specifically affecting MX Series with MPC10, MPC11, LC9600, and MX304 when Circuit Cross-Connect (CCC) is configured. An unauthenticated, adjacent attacker can send a specially crafted MPLS packet, causing an internal loop that leads to a Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) crash and restart, resulting in a sustained Denial of Service (DoS). The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 6.5 (Medium), indicating an adjacent attack vector with low complexity and high impact on availability.
