CVE-2024-21418 is an Elevation of Privilege vulnerability affecting Linux Foundation's Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC). With a CVSS score of 7.8 (HIGH), it allows a local, low-privileged attacker to achieve high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability with low attack complexity. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or inclusion in CISA's KEV catalog. While community discussion and media coverage are minimal, Microsoft's March 2024 Patch Tuesday included a fix for this and other flaws.
