CVE-2024-1685 describes a PHP Object Injection vulnerability in the Social Media Share Buttons plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to and including 2.1.0. This flaw allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access to inject a PHP Object via the attachmentUrl parameter. Rated 8.8 HIGH (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H), successful exploitation, if a suitable POP chain exists elsewhere on the system, could lead to arbitrary file deletion, sensitive data retrieval, or code execution. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
