CVE-2024-1412

17
FAUCET Score

CVE-2024-1412 describes a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Memberpress plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to and including 1.11.26. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 6.1) allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious web scripts through the 'message' and 'error' parameters due to insufficient input sanitization. A successful exploit requires user interaction, typically by tricking a user into clicking a specially crafted link, leading to potential client-side script execution and information disclosure. While a partial patch was released in version 1.11.25, the vulnerability could still be exploited under certain conditions. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
