CVE-2023-50719 is a sensitive information disclosure vulnerability affecting XWiki Platform versions 7.2-milestone-2 through 14.10.14, 15.0.0 through 15.5.1, and 15.6.0. The Solr-based search functionality inadvertently exposes user password hashes and potentially other sensitive configuration passwords (like API keys) in plain text to any authenticated user with view rights on user profiles, which are public by default. This vulnerability is rated High severity (CVSS 7.5) due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and high impact on confidentiality, allowing unauthenticated attackers to steal sensitive credentials. While there are no known active exploits or Metasploit modules, Nuclei templates exist for detection, and the vulnerability is not on CISA's KEV catalog. Community discussion and media coverage are currently minimal.
