CVE-2023-50254 is a high-severity remote command execution (RCE) vulnerability affecting Deepin Linux's default document reader, deepin-reader, in versions prior to 6.0.7. This flaw allows an attacker to achieve RCE by crafting a malicious .docx document that overwrites critical user configuration files, triggering execution when the user opens their terminal. With a CVSS score of 7.8, the vulnerability has a low attack complexity and requires user interaction, but can lead to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
