CVE-2023-4919

18
FAUCET Score

CVE-2023-4919 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the iframe plugin for WordPress, versions up to 4.6. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions or higher can inject malicious web scripts via the iframe shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 5.4) allows for client-side script execution when a user accesses an affected page, potentially leading to information disclosure or session hijacking. While a partial patch was released in version 4.6 and a full patch in 4.7, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
