CVE-2023-42189 is an Insecure Permissions vulnerability affecting various smart home devices utilizing the Connectivity Standards Alliance Matter Official SDK v.1.1.0.0, including products from Nanoleaf, Govee, SwitchBot, Philips Hue, and Yeelight. A remote attacker can exploit this flaw by sending a crafted script to the KeySetRemove function, leading to a denial of service (DoS). With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no user interaction required, resulting in a complete loss of availability for affected devices.
