26
FAUCET Score

CVE-2023-41895 is a critical Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Home Assistant, an open-source home automation platform. It allows arbitrary JavaScript execution on the Home Assistant administration page due to insufficient validation of redirect_uri parameters, specifically when fetching client_id from HTML tags. This flaw, rated 9.6 CRITICAL (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H), could lead to a full takeover of the Home Assistant account and installation. While no active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion has been observed, users are strongly advised to upgrade to version 2023.9.0 or later as there are no known workarounds.
