CVE-2023-39951 is a data exposure vulnerability in OpenTelemetry Java Instrumentation prior to version 1.28.0, affecting applications using AWS SDK v2 with Amazon SES v1 API. When instrumenting SES POST requests, the email subject and message from the HTTP body are inadvertently included in the trace url.path field, exposing sensitive email content in telemetry backends.
