CVE-2023-38994 is a high-severity vulnerability affecting Univention Corporate Server (UCS) 5.0-5, where the 'check_univention_joinstatus' Prometheus monitoring script exposes the LDAP plaintext password in the process list. This allows an attacker with local SSH access to escalate privileges and conduct further attacks. While local SSH access for regular users is not enabled by default, successful exploitation could lead to high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no public exploit code, active exploitation, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
