CVE-2023-38321 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in OpenNDS, affecting Sierra Wireless ALEOS before version 4.17.0.12 and other products. A remote attacker can trigger a NULL pointer dereference, causing the daemon to crash and the Captive Portal to become unavailable, by sending a malformed GET request to /opennds_auth/. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, requiring no user interaction or privileges, and leading to a complete loss of availability.
