CVE-2023-36834 is an Incomplete Internal State Distinction vulnerability affecting Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX 4600 and SRX 5000 Series firewalls when configured in L2 transparent mode. An adjacent attacker can trigger a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending a specific genuine packet, causing Packet Processing Engines (PPEs) to loop and eventually rendering all traffic processing unavailable.
