CVE-2023-36480 is a critical deserialization vulnerability affecting the Aerospike Java client prior to versions 7.0.0, 6.2.0, 5.2.0, and 4.5.0. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by tricking a client into connecting to a malicious server, which then sends specially crafted Java objects that, upon deserialization, lead to arbitrary code execution on the client's machine. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), this vulnerability has a network attack vector, low attack complexity, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
