CVE-2023-33972 affects ScyllaDB, a NoSQL data store, allowing authenticated users with CREATE table privileges in a keyspace to escalate their access and read/write to other tables within that same keyspace, even without explicit permissions. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 8.8) is easily exploitable over the network with low complexity, potentially leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no patch available, and while no active exploitation or public exploit code has been observed, disabling CREATE privileges for users is recommended as a workaround.
