CVE-2023-31465 is a critical remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability affecting FSMLabs TimeKeeper versions 8.0.17 through 8.0.28. An unauthenticated attacker can inject Bash code into the 'arg[2]' parameter of the 'getsamplebacklog' call, leading to arbitrary command execution on the server. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction, allowing for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While not yet observed in active exploitation, a Nuclei template for this RCE exists, indicating readily available exploit code, though there is currently minimal community discussion or media coverage.
