CVE-2023-31190 is an Improper Authentication vulnerability affecting BlueMark Innovations' DroneScout ds230 Remote ID receiver firmware versions 20211210-1627 through 20230329-1042. The vulnerability stems from the device's failure to validate TLS certificates during firmware updates, allowing a Man-in-the-Middle attacker to inject malicious firmware. This high-severity flaw (CVSS 8.1) enables attackers to gain administrative (root) privileges on the underlying Linux operating system, leading to complete compromise of the device.
