CVE-2023-29018 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in the OpenFeature Operator, affecting linuxfoundation openfeature products. It allows an attacker, assuming prior arbitrary code execution, to leverage lax permissions in the open-feature-operator-controller-manager to escalate privileges of any Service Account within the cluster. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 8.8) has a low attack complexity and could lead to denial of service, modification of cluster state, or exfiltration of sensitive data. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
