CVE-2023-28984 is a Use After Free vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS on QFX Series devices, specifically within the Layer 2 Address Learning Manager (l2alm). This flaw, combined with a race condition during MAC learning and aging, can allow an adjacent attacker to cause a Denial of Service by crashing and restarting the Packet Forwarding Engine. Rated Medium severity (CVSS 5.3), exploitation requires adjacent network access and has high attack complexity, but no user interaction is needed.
