27
FAUCET Score

CVE-2023-27355 is a critical buffer overflow vulnerability in Sonos One speakers (firmware 70.3-35220 and other Sonos S1/S2 products) that allows unauthenticated, network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code with root privileges. The flaw resides in the MPEG-TS parser, stemming from insufficient validation of user-supplied data length before copying it to a fixed-length buffer. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (High), this vulnerability presents a significant risk due to its low attack complexity and complete compromise potential. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion, and it is not listed in CISA's KEV catalog.
