CVE-2023-20081 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in the IPv6 DHCP client module of Cisco ASA, FTD, IOS, and IOS XE Software. It stems from insufficient validation of crafted DHCPv6 messages, allowing an unauthenticated, remote attacker to force a device reload. The attack requires the attacker to control the DHCPv6 server or be in a man-in-the-middle position, making it a high complexity attack with a CVSS score of 5.9 (Medium). There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
