24
FAUCET Score

CVE-2023-20051 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the Vector Packet Processor (VPP) of Cisco Packet Data Network Gateway (PGW), affecting Cisco ASR 5000, 5500, and 5700 series. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this by sending a malformed Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP) packet over an IPsec connection. This can stop ICMP traffic processing, leading to a denial of service. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 7.5 (High) due to its network attack vector, low attack complexity, and high availability impact. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
