CVE-2023-1196 is a PHP Object Injection vulnerability affecting Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) Free and Pro WordPress plugins versions 6.x before 6.1.0 and 5.x before 5.12.5. This flaw allows authenticated users with Contributor roles or higher to execute arbitrary code by unserializing user-controlled data, provided a suitable gadget is present. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (High), it presents a significant risk of full compromise (confidentiality, integrity, and availability) due to its low attack complexity and network-based vector.
