CVE-2023-0978 is a command injection vulnerability affecting Trellix Intelligent Sandbox and McAfee Advanced Threat Defense versions 5.2 and earlier. A local, highly privileged user can exploit this by injecting specially crafted strings into CLI commands due to insufficient argument validation. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 6.7) allows for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
