CVE-2022-48199 describes a privilege escalation vulnerability in SoftPerfect NetWorx 7.1.1 on Windows, where a low-privileged user can modify the Notifications function to execute arbitrary malicious binaries. This allows for high-impact compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability, as the malicious binary will execute in the context of any user running NetWorx. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low privileges and no user interaction.
