CVE-2022-4120 is a critical PHP Object Injection vulnerability affecting the Stop Spammers Security WordPress plugin prior to version 2022.6. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to pass base64 encoded user input to the unserialize() function when CAPTCHA is enabled, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution if a suitable gadget chain exists on the server. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction required, and can result in complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
