CVE-2022-40471 is a critical Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability affecting oretnom23 Clinic's Patient Management System v1.0, allowing unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary PHP webshells through the profile picture upload functionality in users.php. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While not currently on CISA's KEV catalog, a Metasploit module exists for this vulnerability, indicating readily available exploit code, despite limited community discussion or media coverage.
