CVE-2022-40267 describes a predictable seed vulnerability in the pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) affecting various Mitsubishi Electric MELSEC iQ-F and iQ-R series PLCs. This flaw allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to bypass authentication on the Web server function by guessing predictable random numbers. With a CVSS score of 9.1 (Critical), the vulnerability has a network attack vector, low attack complexity, and can lead to high confidentiality and integrity impacts without requiring user interaction.
