CVE-2022-39368 is a Denial of Service vulnerability affecting Eclipse Californium versions prior to 3.7.0 and 2.7.4, a Java implementation of the Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP). The flaw stems from improper cleanup of throttling counters during failed handshakes, leading to permanent record dropping for both client and server. With a CVSS score of 8.2 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, resulting in high availability impact. There is currently no known active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
