CVE-2022-3896

17
FAUCET Score

CVE-2022-3896 describes a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the WP Affiliate Platform plugin for WordPress, affecting versions up to 6.3.9. This flaw stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of the $_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"] variable. An unauthenticated attacker could inject arbitrary web scripts, potentially leading to client-side attacks if a user clicks a malicious link, though modern browsers mitigate much of this risk. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 6.1 (Medium), indicating a network-based attack with low complexity requiring user interaction, resulting in low impact to confidentiality and integrity. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
