CVE-2022-38725 describes an integer overflow vulnerability in the RFC3164 parser of One Identity syslog-ng versions 3.0 through 3.37, as well as syslog-ng Premium Edition 7.0.30 and syslog-ng Store Box 6.10.0. This flaw allows remote attackers to trigger a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending specially crafted syslog input to the tcp or network functions. Rated 7.5 HIGH on the CVSS scale, the vulnerability is network-exploitable with low attack complexity, requiring no privileges or user interaction, and its primary impact is system availability.
