CVE-2022-36025

29
FAUCET Score

CVE-2022-36025 is a critical vulnerability affecting Besu, a Java-based Ethereum client, in versions newer than 22.1.3 and prior to 22.7.1. It involves an incorrect conversion between numeric types during gas calculation for CALL operations, leading to incorrect gas being passed to and returned from called contracts. This can cause consensus failures in multi-EVM networks or allow transactions to exceed gas limitations in single-EVM networks. With a CVSS score of 9.1 (Critical), this vulnerability has a network attack vector, low attack complexity, and high impact on integrity and availability. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
