CVE-2022-33684 affects Apache Pulsar C++ and Python Clients (versions 2.7.0-2.7.4, 2.8.0-2.8.3, 2.9.0-2.9.2, 2.10.0-2.10.1, and 2.6.4 and earlier), stemming from a failure to verify peer TLS certificates during OAuth2.0 Client Credential Flow HTTPS calls. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 8.1) allows a sophisticated attacker, positioned as a man-in-the-middle, to intercept and modify GET requests to the issuer URL, potentially compromising OAuth2.0 credentials and gaining unauthorized access to Apache Pulsar clusters. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
