CVE-2022-33174 is a critical authorization bypass vulnerability affecting Power Distribution Units (PDUs) running Powertek firmware versions prior to 3.30.30. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this flaw by sending a crafted HTTP request to the web interface, bypassing session authorization checks. This allows for the retrieval of sensitive system credentials, including usernames and passwords in cleartext. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High) and an EPSS score indicating a high likelihood of exploitation, this vulnerability presents a significant risk due to its network-based attack vector and low attack complexity. While not currently on the KEV catalog or showing active exploitation, public Nuclei templates exist, indicating readily available exploit code and increasing the potential for future attacks.
