CVE-2022-30283 is a Time-of-Check to Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) vulnerability in the UsbCoreDxe module of Insyde Kernels, affecting versions 5.0 through 5.5. An attacker with high privileges could exploit this by using Direct Memory Access (DMA) to tamper with USB working buffers, leading to System Management Random Access Memory (SMRAM) corruption and escalation of privileges. Rated 7.5 HIGH on CVSS, this vulnerability requires high attack complexity and local access, but can result in complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
