CVE-2022-29965

19
FAUCET Score

CVE-2022-29965 is a medium-severity vulnerability affecting Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS) controllers and IO cards. It involves the misuse of passwords for privileged operations on the maintenance port TELNET interface, which are generated using a weak, deterministic algorithm with low entropy. An attacker with local access can easily reconstruct these passwords to gain unauthorized access to maintenance operations, potentially leading to high confidentiality impact. There is currently no public exploit code available, and the vulnerability has not seen active exploitation or significant community discussion.
