CVE-2022-29518 is an authentication bypass vulnerability affecting Koyo Electronics' Screen Creator Advance2, HMI GC-A2 series, and the Real time remote monitoring and control tool (Remote GC) versions prior to Ver.0.1.1.3 Build01. This flaw allows a local attacker to bypass authentication by exploiting an improper check of account names in the Remote control settings. With a CVSS score of 7.0 (HIGH), this vulnerability has a local attack vector and high attack complexity, enabling an attacker to perform arbitrary operations on the HMI. The potential impact includes unauthorized disclosure, deletion, or alteration of stored information, and illegal operation of connected equipment.
