CVE-2022-2788 is a Path Traversal vulnerability (CWE-29, also known as ZipSlip) affecting Emerson Electric's Proficy Machine Edition Version 9.80 and prior. This flaw allows an authenticated, local attacker to upload a malicious .BLZ file to a PLC, which can then be transferred to a Windows engineering station and executed. With a CVSS score of 7.3 HIGH, the vulnerability has a high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, requiring user interaction for exploitation.
