CVE-2022-27642 is an authentication bypass vulnerability affecting NETGEAR R6700v3 routers running firmware version 1.0.4.120_10.0.91. This flaw, residing in the httpd service due to incorrect string matching, allows network-adjacent attackers to bypass authentication without requiring user interaction. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (HIGH), successful exploitation could lead to high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and can be chained with other vulnerabilities for root-level code execution.
