CVE-2022-26520

32
FAUCET Score

CVE-2022-26520 describes a critical vulnerability in pgjdbc versions prior to 42.3.3, affecting applications using the PostgreSQL JDBC driver, including Debian-based systems. An attacker controlling JDBC connection properties can leverage java.util.logging.FileHandler to write arbitrary files, potentially leading to remote code execution (e.g., creating executable JSP files). With a CVSS score of 9.8, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction, allowing for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its high severity, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
