CVE-2022-26495 is a critical integer overflow vulnerability in nbd-server versions prior to 3.24, affecting Debian, Fedora, and Network Block Device products. This flaw allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to trigger a heap-based buffer overflow by sending a specially crafted message with a zero-sized name buffer, leading to a write to a dangling pointer. With a CVSS score of 9.8, successful exploitation could result in high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its severity, there is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
