CVE-2022-22201 is an Improper Validation of Specified Index, Position, or Offset in Input vulnerability affecting the Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX5000 Series with SPC3, SRX4000 Series, and vSRX. An unauthenticated network-based attacker can trigger a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending a malformed ESP packet to an established IPsec tunnel, causing the PFE to crash. This vulnerability has a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), indicating a network-based attack with low complexity and high impact on availability.
