CVE-2022-22187 is an Improper Privilege Management vulnerability in the Windows Installer framework of Juniper Networks Juniper Identity Management Service (JIMS) versions prior to 1.4.0. An unprivileged local attacker can trigger a repair operation, leading to the execution of malicious binaries with SYSTEM privileges. This allows for local privilege escalation, as indicated by its CVSS score of 7.8 (High) and potential for high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no public exploit code available, and the vulnerability shows no signs of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
