CVE-2022-0324 is a high-severity vulnerability affecting the DHCPv6 packet parsing code in Linux Foundation's Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC). A remote attacker can craft a malicious DHCPv6 packet to trigger a buffer overflow, leading to an out-of-bounds memory write and causing the critical dhcp6relay process to crash, potentially shutting down the DHCP relay Docker. With a CVSS score of 7.5, this vulnerability requires no user interaction and has a low attack complexity, posing a significant availability risk. Currently, there is no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
