CVE-2021-46880 is a critical authentication bypass vulnerability affecting LibreSSL before version 3.4.2 and OpenBSD before 7.0 errata 006. The flaw in x509/x509_verify.c allows an attacker to bypass authentication by discarding errors for unverified certificate chains. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction, potentially leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
