CVE-2021-43839 describes a vulnerability in Cronos nodes prior to version 0.6.5, allowing an attacker to steal transaction fees from the Cosmos SDK's FeeCollector by sending a specially crafted MsgEthereumTx. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 7.5) has a network attack vector and low complexity, enabling an unauthenticated attacker to impact the integrity of transaction fees. While there are no known active exploits, public exploit code, or significant community discussion, all validator node operators are strongly advised to upgrade to Cronos v0.6.5 immediately to mitigate this risk.
