CVE-2021-42262 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Softing OPC UA C++ SDK versions prior to 5.70, as well as Softing dataFEED OPC Suite and Secure Integration Server. An authenticated attacker can crash the OPC/UA client by providing a malformed XML element in the type dictionary, leading to an out-of-memory condition. This vulnerability has a CVSS score of 6.5 (Medium) due to its network-based attack vector and high availability impact.
