CVE-2021-42019 describes a critical vulnerability (CVSS 9.8) in numerous Siemens RUGGEDCOM products, where a third-party component fails to properly check memory boundaries during partition allocation. An attacker could exploit an integer-wrap around by requesting a large memory allocation, leading to a much smaller allocation than intended. This could result in high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor any evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
